Simon Medcalfe has been a professor at Augusta University since 2008 where he has taught a variety of economics and finance courses. He received his PhD in economics from Lehigh University in Pennsylvania and holds a Master of Science degree in finance from the University of Leicester (*pronounced Lester) in England. His research interests include the social determinants of health, sports economics, and measuring economic well-being in counties and metro areas. He writes a weekly economics column in Augusta Business Daily.
