AUGUSTA ESTATE PLANNING COUNCIL

Please plan on attending our annual continuing education event that will be held on the morning of Thursday, November 14th. The Council is excited to announce this year's presenters: Blake Melton and Jerry Kelleher. Blake will provide his expertise in GA fiduciary law as he will present updates for us in this area.  Jerry will present for us updates/considerations in life insurance planning.

Bio for Blake Melton, J.D., LL.M.

Blake Melton is a Senior Wealth Strategist with The Family Office at Synovus and a fellow in The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.  He is a past Chairperson of the Fiduciary Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia and currently serves on its Code Revision and Legislative Committees.   He is also active in his local community.  He is the founder and chair of Standing Boy, Inc., a nonprofit that has constructed nearly 35 miles of hiking and mountain biking trails in north Columbus. 

Blake met his wife Jensen while both were attending the University of Georgia School of Law.  They have two daughters, Finley and Asher.

Bio for Jerry Kelleher

Jerry is currently VP - Insurance Solutions with Queensborough Bank & Trust. He has over 17 years’ experience in financial services, including partnering with financial advisors, trust advisors, CPA’s and Bankers providing insurance solutions to their clients. These solutions include Income Replacement, Estate Preservation, Supplemental Retirement Income and Long-Term Care planning as well as business insurance strategies including Buy-Sell agreements, Executive Bonus Plans and Business Succession plans.

Jerry and his wife Julie reside in Alpharetta, GA. Jerry is an avid golfer, and they enjoy entertaining family and friends and spending time with their twin grandchildren.

Jerry received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Marketing from St. John Fisher University in Rochester, NY.
