Simon Medcalfe has been a professor at Augusta University since 2008 where he has taught a variety of economics and finance courses. He received his PhD in economics from Lehigh University in Pennsylvania and also holds a Masters in Finance degree from the University of Leicester (*pronounced Lester) in England. His research interests include the impact of residential racial segregation on health outcomes and measuring economic well-being in counties and metro areas. He writes a weekly column on all things economics in Augusta Business Daily.
